Advanced Surgical Concepts Ltd (ASC) is a company on the cutting edge of research and development in the field of surgical devices, based in Bray, Co. Wicklow.

Having recently developed a groundbreaking device for use in laparoscopic surgery, the company needed a film to showcase this device to a number of US-based corporate multinationals. We produced a promotional film for ASC which incorporated real footage, 3-D animation and a specially commissioned soundtrack.

ASC is a global player; devices they have developed over the past decade are currently used for standard surgical procedures in hospitals throughout the world.

Mumming is an age old tradition of folk drama, which has been practiced in various guises throughout Ireland and England for hundreds of years.

Often referred to as a dying tradition, it’s hard to think of it in such terms, when you come into contact with the unruly bunch of reprobates who call themselves the Aughakillymaude mummers!

These Fermanagh-based mummers approached us because they wanted their work put on the record. Or maybe it was because they wanted a film for educational purposes; to show in schools, and to exhibit in their centre. Or was it, as ‘Captain Mummer’ says, for propaganda purposes?

Brook House is a langauge school in Bray, Co. Wicklow, which is owned by Los Sauces, a second-level educational institute in Madrid, Spain. Los Sauces were looking for a film which could be used in trade fairs and schools in Spain to show the facilities available in the Brook House school.

We filmed all aspects of the school’s operation; classes, recreational activities, accommodation arrangements, student welfare and healthcare facilities. Our film was designed to both encourage children to consider travelling to Ireland, and to assure parents that children would receive a high quality level of language tuition, in a safe, friendly and caring environment.
